For this project, I will be doing a small breakdowns of different types of neobanks. A neobank is a type of bank that operates entirely online without any branches. Most of these neobanks often offer checking and savings accounts, loans, and credit cards. Examples of neobanks include Monzo and Sterling Bank, just to name some.

Monzo - Personal Bank

Monzo is known for there user friendly natural and this shows in their design language. Using what some would call a friendly display font for their logo and titles throughout their websites adds to more a user feel more invited and that its not just a faceless company. Furthermore, Monzo's use of warm colours and playful illustrations further contribute to the approachable nature of their branding. All these things make a user feel more connected to it in a personal way.

In conclusion, this is Monzo’s goal, to make a user feel welcomed for and that they can faith in there bank.

Sterling Bank

Untitled

Monzo and Sterling bank do have the same goal for a user but Sterling’s design is some what different from Monzo.

Sterling’s makes use of a san serif fonts throughout its website, app and design overall. This could hurt its user friendly natural but unlike Monzo, Sterling’s design team have tried to make the service feel like a normal bank, its a mixed of friendly and professional. Unlike most neobanks, Sterling’s is sure of it, the design language of this neobank is strong, words like better, smooth, instant and smash, all from their landing page on its website. This could make a user feel that this bank is trustful. Also the main colour of Sterling is purple. Purple being known for being a symbol of wealth, power and ambition, witch can be saw in Sterling’s design language.

Overall I feel that Sterling’s wants to make a user feel that a person can trust them because of sure they are of their service and that you wouldn’t be have second thoughts about it
